+1

That said, should you discover too late that a side conversation worthy of its own thread has once again--despite your best intentions--appeared, please feel free to PM me a link to the start of that subthread. I'm hoping to help untangle some of that sort of mess, but I'm certainly not going to spot every occurrence myself. As Maemo and this site begin to really take off, my days of at least skimming, if not fully reading, every post in every thread are coming to a close.

And +1 on that^ post...

...back to points of contact. A point of contact with Nokia from a Maemo user that may be overlooked and is definitely in need of some attention is OVI...

Angry first posts by new members sometimes results in not so welcoming replies from existing members.
It would be a shame to loose potential contributing members of the community over something that could have been corrected before hand.

Good point YoDude. I wonder how much Ovi overflow we can expect...

About hardware, there is a 'Devices' category in the Brainstorm that can be used to propose ideas. Don't expect wild discussions about unannounced device features in upcoming products but at least there is a place to propose, vote, comment. For hardware bugs there is of course the Nokia Care channels.

About identifying Nokia speakers, it is only 'problematic' in talk.maemo.org, as the rest of channels offer explicit email addresses or a direct link to the maemo.org profile. In talk.maemo.org you have Peter@Maemo for generic topics, DanielWilms for Developer support and myself for Community and misc Anything else comes as a premium upon decision of the own posters (like ragnar, konttori, stoppa, etc).

About Who is Who, there is https://maemo.org/profile/list/

Contributors who ae Nokia employees are highly encouraged to make explicit their affiliation in their maemo.org profiles. Theere they can explain whether they are in an official role, if that role is only exercised when discussing about their area of work, if they just happen to work at Nokia but their community involvement is entirely personal, etc.

About talk.maemo.org signatures, I do mention Nokia in mine and I expect the same from Peter and DanielWilms since we are paid (among other things) to be active here.

If I have something to say entirely personal I post without signature, but this is not always useful. But not big problem either.

I also have a link to my maemo.org profile, and there I can explain my whole life if I wish. I think it's useful, I recommend it to other Nokia employees and actually to anybody active here.

Ovi store is currently not supported in Maemo, but this is besides the point of this thread anyway. Here we are discussing the official points of contact with Nokia in the *.maemo.org domain.

While that is certainly true, Quim, I got the impression that YoDude was talking about handling the people who may mistakenly look for Ovi support here (correct me if I got that wrong YoDude). Of course I would expect it's pretty clear we're not about that...

You are correct Texrat however, I am now confused about the point of this thread.

I started this thread proposing: So what about agreeing on the channels that we [Nokia] officially follow [in maemo.org]?

Sorry if it was not clear enough.

I reckon being confused by your post #42. I read it again and still couldn't get the exact meaning.
