Alright. So I was just kinda sitting in my living room today and thinking about ways to watch video's stored on my n810 through my tv. I've read some stuff about video through the usb port, but that would be the last choice for me because I'm a poor college student and can't really afford any extra hardware. Then it hit me... What about video out through the headphone jack... I have an old creative Zen Vision:M that used to have video out, and all it used was a three prong headphone plug thing, with 3 rca cables on the other side, Red, White and Yellow. I don't know if there are hardware restrictions preventing this on the N810, but if not, and it's simply a matter of getting the right software... If this topic has been previously discussed, I apologize for finding it in my very short Google rampage.

Video out is handled via a standard 4-pole 3.5mm to AV RCA cable plugged into the N900's "headphone" jack.

You've been swept away in the N900 flood!

His question is in regards to the N810

I don't think there is anything there in the headphone jack of the n810 to give you video

Nope, the OMAP2 chipset DOES support video out through the headphone jack, but the n810 uses a separate video chipset for the high rez screen that does not. It is not even physically weired to the headphones, so no go...

Well, expanding on this question... what (if any) are the options for watching vids from a N810 on a TV? Hardware options? Software options?
I'm new to the Nokia and to linux as well but I am a pretty quick study. I am really liking what I am learning about linux and the possibilities of the nokia are impressive.

The options are: if you really want to involve your n810 in some way, buy a DVD player or harddrive video player with a usb-host port and attach the N810 to it via the USB host port.

The pins are not connected. We had a long talk about this a year or more ago. It may be somewhere on the forum, or the mailing list or on IRC. I can't remember where we discussed. Sorry!

the N810 already uses all three 'prongs' 1 for left audio, 1 for right audio and 1 for mic... no room for video even if it was hooked up
