I went over to Amazon to do a little checking on something and stumbled onto a secret sale they're having completely by accident. They're selling flash memory for anywhere from 60-80% off! They're selling 8gb microsd class 2 for $15!! And class 6 for $20!

I thought those prices are normal for flash memory nowadays?

I think it is you can get the same price or lower in buy.com

For a class 6 8gb? I've been seeing them considerably higher than that for a while.

EDIT: I just checked and most of the prices at Amazon right now are a couple bucks cheaper for better quality flash cards, such as from Sandisk. For example, I can get a 16gb Class 6 from Amazon for $33, but buy.com has it for $41 before shipping. Same with the 8gb class 6 micro sdhc. Buy.com is a few bucks more.

Just be careful to ONLY buy from Amazon themselves. I made the mistake of buying a memory card off Marketplace once, it was a fake and completely useless.

Fortunately the complaints procedure seems to work quite well.

Yeah, I've been finding that Adata is a brand of flash cards that needs to be avoided at all costs. So far I've bought 3 Adata flash cards. 2 of them have already failed with bad sectors, but none of my Kingston, Transcend, or Sandisk cards have. So I won't be buying anymore Adata in the future.

And as for the Class 10 cards, I'd avoid them for now. The standard is issued by Panasonic, and *NOT* by the SD card association. In fact, the SD Card Association doesn't recognize any classes higher than 6, although there are cards with speeds high enough to natively have a class 8 and 10 if they wanted. But no standard for those classes has been recognized. So until the SD card association officially recognizes it as part of the standard, avoid it.
