I just downloaded GPE Calendar onto my Nokia 800, but whenever I try to load it, it flashes briefly on the screen, and then tries to load an Alarms page, which won't open. Has anybody else run into this problem, and found a solution?
Thanks,

Welcome here !!!

Well, sorry i cannot help you so much, but i find it strange. This app works perfectly for me.
Maybe you should uninstall it, reboot, reinstall it and try ?

Is your tablet up to date with Diablo ?
Did you install the latest version of GPE Cal ?

GPE cal works great for me. Once it's up you'll want to look at erminig which sync GPE cal woth Google Calendar. 5.2008.43-7 is the latest OS version of Diablo -- in Control Panel do About Product.

Similarly, GPE calendar opens in agenda, but closes instantly if i try to change the view. it will add events. I am running latest Diablo, on an N810. I have deleted and reinstalled; deleted all of the gpe suite and reinstalled, and done it again rebooting in between. It occurs whether or not anything else is running. any other adeas?

There is a known problem with the agenda view in the version of GPE Calendar currently in Extras. If the sidebar is disabled then it is likely to crash when entering or leaving agenda view.

See http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?p=316497 for more info.

Thanks Graham. I will try reinstalling gpe-calendar and leave the sidebar open. I was having this same problem.

Graham, again, thank you. Making the gpe-calendar sidebar visible allowed me to switch out of agenda view.
