Btw, I'll create a wiki page where to collect all this ideas you gave me (may be a brainstorm page?)

Known issues in Xournal package 12:

a) Share via services button does nothing (will be removed for now)
b) +/- hardware keys change volume and not zoom in/out in Xournal (package 13 will fix this)

Finally key shortcuts:

'U' -> Undo
'R' -> Redo
CTRL-S -> Save As
CTRL-N -> New
CTRL-O -> Open (also for Annotating PDF)
CTRL-Q -> Quit (asks if unsaved) [probably a bug, should behave as when closing it with the X powerkey]

If you tap the X icon to close Xournal, it will autosave your work in a temporary file and will reload the temporary file when re-launching it.

I plan to leave +/- for Volume settings and use keys to zoom in/out.
What do you guys think?

Just a note saying that package 13 is in Extras Testing and this should be the version that goes in Extras.

Just a thought: The standard common interface keyboard shortcuts in applications is usually:

CTRL+Y or CTRL+SHIFT+Z for Redo

and

CTRL+W for Quit

..in all the office, CAD, 3D and graphics apps that I have used. I think these OS wide shortcuts were first introduced with the original Macintosh, when MS-DOS apps had a variety of different ones for different applications. Microsoft copied them when they made Windows, and Linux apps have gone with these conventions too, as far as I have seen.

I'm really looking forward to using this app when I get an N900. I have been playing around with the stylus on my brother's 5800 XpressMusic, and I find that my handwriting looks better on it than it does usually when I write on paper, for some reason.

Xournal is also using CTRL-Y for Redo and CTRL-Z for Undo (coupled with U and R)

Package 13 is also using "I" for Zoom-IN and "O" for Zoom-OUT (I didn't think about a "Reset zoom" key.. mmm).

For Quit I'm using CTRL-Q (CTRL-W is usually to close the current window or the whole program is this is the last window open).

Bear with me that this is a very light version of Xournal.

I had to remove all the Menus and still need to find a way to bring back all those tools and settings in the new UI.

So you will miss PLENTY of cool tools that Xournal had.
But they will be back asap

Thank you

"I'll probably backport it to Diablo once the Fremantle version is finished"

I'd very much appreciate this. It's uncertain when, if ever, I'll be able to get an n900.
