It looks so compelling, I understand the lust. But somehow the possibility of a) seems so remote that b) ceases to be of concern... unfortunately :-)

Yeah. Especially making an LCD screen effectively without a border seems a bit off the scale. It does remind a bit of those gag-envelopes or wallets you can buy (and which we used to make in school) where, depending on how you open them, the card/money is behind straight bands or crossed ones.

Still, I've been dreaming about pocketable devices with hinged LCD screens for so long now that actually seeing one that has a -- however remote -- possibility of becoming real, amounts to what I can only describe as a "semi-orgasmic experience" (a warm, fuzzy feeling, but a bit higher up than the real one; and not so sticky).

A year or two ago Palm (then PalmOne) applied for a patent for a foldable LCD screen.
