Ironically it seems the N900 is harder to get now it is getting nearer to mainstream and launch. Simfree it's £499, 60% more money than the N800. The UK's best 3g network 3, currently has sims that don't work in it, the UK mobile shops don't know anything about it and the one place you could get it on a contract with a decent network has stopped selling it.

Frustratingly I had the cash to get it today from mobilephonesdirect, but they don't want my money. I was in touch with them on their webchat, they said they only had t-mobile as an option for 2 months only, hopefully there will be more options available soon rather than paying £499 or joining Vodafone.

richie, I'm not sure where you're getting the sim-free price of £499 from, but from mobilephonesdirect.co.uk the sim-free price is £449.99 (plus £4 p&p).

Roger

Having had a look there now I see no voda or tmob contracts listed, there is a low price voda where you pay over 300, this may be my bold being dodgy though!!

T-Mobile N900 contracts are no longer available according to a chat assistant, because they have exceeded their preorder contract allocations.

I was on about Nokia's shop price £499. However £450 is too much for me. I'll have to wait for the price to come down or for a network deal.

Hi Guys,

I received an email from Nokia Uk saying that there was a problem with my order and they need me to phone back to confirm it.

I must admit I was thinking oh oh.

Right it looks like they have cottoned on to the 3 voucher discount trick, I did try to profess my innocence in that I used 2 discount codes against the phone and the 3rd code was for the extra battery. Unfortunately Nokia have said they will only honour 30% off the phone and as a gesture of good will could knock off £5 for the battery.

I politely declined the battery discount but the N900 is now costing me £331.83 inc vat and free delivery.

i am not sure what this does to the topcashback offer as basically Nokia had to cancel the previous order and I have received an email from them confirming cancellation of my existing order but I have also received an email of confirmation for the new order it doesn't mention that it's a phone order the email starts "Thank you for your order at Nokia UK online shop".

I assume the 10% we initially got from Top Cashback will get rejected as the orders have been cancelled and resubmitted but you should be able to query it with them with your new order and fingers crossed they will pay.

I will keep an eye out on Top Cashback and submit a query once my cashback enquiry gets cancelled and will keep you updated of developments.

£331.80 is still not a bad price for a Nokia N900 although an extra £50 would be even nicer!

received this email from MPD about 5 minutes back:

Dear Customer

As you may have read in the press, we’re sorry to confirm that delivery of your new Nokia N900 stock has been delayed to mid November – Our N900 stock when it arrives will be the first in the UK and orders will be dispatched on a first ordered, first served basis directly from our Nokia stores. Be assured that you are top of the dispatch list for a new Nokia N900 and you will not get the N900 anywhere else before this date, which for the moment is exclusive to Nokia direct sales channels.

Please accept our sincere apologies for this short delay and we thank you for your patience. Having read several reviews and personally used a pre-production N900 running with Maemo 5 operating system, be assured that the new Nokia N900 will be very much worth the short wait.

If you would like to discuss your pending order please email us at webshop@mobilephonesdirect.co.uk. For more details of the Nokia N900 please visit our new Nokia Retail website www.nokiaretail.co.uk or our main website at www.mobilephonesdirect.co.uk

Kind regards,
