Spoiled brats, the phone is not designed for you but it's designed for you to like and if you don't like it get a perfect phone that is designed
according to your needs. If you're scared the phone get scratches then
just frame them and don't use them.

It's like you dating a very hot model and still complain about his/her
foreign accent or something.

I mean come on, you can't have it all because not all you want
mean someone else want. If you really like it, get it and live with it, be
happy with it and you'll live a longer life =]

That’s my last one.
You're free to not reply to anyone you choose. Who WE is, I don't know, but we should value everyone's opinion, and realize they're only opinions. I'm not interested in developing for Maemo, either. Does that mean I shouldn't be a part of this forum, either? Try to shed some of the elitist attitude, and instead of talking as if he's not hear, why not engage or enlighten him/her? Many just aren't as aware of the technology. Especially us Americans. We're catching up to the global standard, and we don't always have a clue what's up. Luckily, most of the guys here do, so why not share some of that knowledge?

This device is touched and not capacitive as well, so it would scratch more than usual. SO PLEASE NOKIA GIVE US FREE SCREEN PROTECTOR....WE NEED IT.
Buy one.. it's like 10 bucks.. I believe you can afford that..

to christexaport,
I guess your right; I’m not a specialist too. One of the things I like with maemo and linux in general is that people don’t keep their knowledge to themselves, are always trying to help, and even creating new applications if you ask. So this kind of completely negative attitude is really annoying. (Well, I make one more…)

Does anyone know EXACTLY what the material for the screen is? I know my Cowon S9 is made of something called "Gorilla Glass", and no matter how I handle that thing, what is in my pocket with it..etc, it doesn't have a SINGLE scratch. And I use that thing all day, every day. Would that kind of material only work for capacitive?

I read drm's comment as: "we are a bunch of people interested in developing maemo and they are not". Nothing about developing applications.

So basically, you two (almost) don't disagree on anything..

Never mind the bloody screen, every iPhone i see lives in some kinda pig ugly skin to stop it getting scratched.
LOL its no longer slim, maybe even thicker than N900 as a result (don't even go there).

I shall put nice screen protector on mine, then shov it in my pocket, cause I know that if I scratch the back I'll pick up cheap chinese knock off on ebay. Roll out the Torx.

lens protector ooh yes.

Oh, I see your point, Saturn. I'm all for developing Maemo as an ecosystem and community. Maybe drm has a point. Instead of making negative statements all of the time, helpful solutions and suggestions are always welcome as well, and balances out the white noise of constant complaining. I can attest to that personally.

Does anyone know if the design of the phone allows for cover replacement? Ie. Would a replacement cover have a layer above the actual screen?

Here in NYC, the only skin I see on the iphones are to protect the back not the front. Users believe its quite hard to scratch (but easy to crack) because its glass.
