i think the contrast on the + and - is too little on those last icons. could be wrong though, no idea how it looks on the device, but maybe they could be improved. i like the general style, though

Yea, that's what I'm thinking, I spoke with the developer and he gave me some additional requirements, so I'll be tweaking all the icons, hopefully I can sort something out with the +/-

Is there any chance that the .377 version of Navicore will work on the n900 if we have the .deb?

Hi all! I'm the guy who is working on porting maemo-mapper to fremantle. I just created a few tasks for developers who are interested in helping out:

Any help is welcome. :-)

Historically, the name of the maemo mapper dude is gnuite. He put in a heck of a lot of brilliant work for years and I hate to see his name forgotten.

Not to push things But anyone know when we will be able to use Maemo Mapper on the N900 ?

I heavily use Google Maps on my iPhone and also Ovi Maps on my N97 - so therefore a switch to N900 would definately need a great mapping app and the current Ovi Maps on the N900 sucks

One of the recent reviews claimed that the release n900 would have OVI maps v3 instead of v1 like the pre-release ones. I have no idea what the status is of this is between rumour and fact. But it may be worth waiting to see what the release n900s come with.

I would hope that V3 arrives soon because all the reviews have said that V1 is disappointing.

I'm involved in porting maemo-mapper to fremantle, but unfortunately my spare time is limited.
A barely working version, a direct port from diablo, is already available here for the impatient:

But a better version, using clutter and the fremantle UI widgets will be coming -- when, I don't know myself.

Do you plan on using libchamplain? Clutter map widget, maemo mapper needs one of those, it would make sense to use it.
