Hi all! Can someone help me? The main memory on my n810 has started to fill up for no reason.

I first noticed the problem this past weekend--shortly after I realized that my Garnet VM Beta had expired. [Also, I don't have access to the internet on my n810 (long story), so I don't think it's malware]. By the way, I'm running Diablo off of a 16 GB SD card with 1 GB swap and 1 GB internal memory partitions.

I made a note and then tried to save it--I got a message that memory was full. Sure enough, I only had 1K left of memory according to File Manager. Before this, I knew that I had > 600 MB free on the main partition. Puzzled, I deleted some files and went back to work. However, the next day, I had the same problem even though I didn't add anything more to the device since the previous day. It seems that my memory is filling up due to some rogue software bug.

When I look at the info pane for my main partition in File Manager, I add up the items that are listed under "data" and I see that I have 2 GB unaccounted for. Also, I looked for new files using emelfm2 (under Root) and deleted some large cache files in the .tmp folder, but this didn't affect the amount of memory free (still 4K now!) on the card.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm tempted to just delete the Garnet VM Beta app, but the occurrence of this problem at the same time as the Beta expiration may be a coincidence.

I mostly use my Nokia for note-taking now and looking up Wikipedia articles with Aarddict. I am using an older version of aarddict due to a conflict between aarddict and ankimaemi which prevents me from updating either program. I am using the latest (Aug. 2009) Wikipedia aarddict file. I have also taken a few pictures using Knips (which usually crashes my device) and my children have played a couple of games--mostly Flight of the Amazon Queen, a SCUMMVM game.

Thanks!

By the way, I've also noted that my batteries drain twice as fast now since this started happening.

Well, I found out the problem.
Using the "PS" and "Top" commands in Terminal, I found that "debian-tor" was using up > 90% of cpu. I used the "Kill" command in Terminal and stopped it.
By searching from folder to folder using emelfm2, I found the /var/log/tor/ folder. Inside, there was a log file that was 892 MB. I deleted that file and now have recovered most of my lost memory!
