Hi guys,
just in case you would like to play some drums on your
tablet: http://www.mojocafe.net/testing/drums.swf

Visit that url with your device or download the file but do
not expect too much out of it

I remember building my first Pentium II machine; I think it was just over 10 years ago. The CPU package* was approximately the same size as the N800.

The CPU package. Alone.

Just think about that.

I'm still using a PII 600 with Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 in my home studio and I get up to 32 audio tracks on playback.

Not quite Cakewalk, but I did get Milkytracker working under Debian chroot and it fits the screen well and plays great. It is currently the "full" version of Milkytracker, but looking at their website there appears to be a "portable" version that has niceties like on screen keyboard and whatnot. If someone could port this portable version to OS2008, that would be hot!

IMO the music sequencer of choice should be able to export/import data, for example to laptop or desktop, over WiFi or USB. From there on MIDI or USB. Then you can connect your gear (hardware synths, midi keyboard, headphones, etc...) on your laptop. So the N8x0 functions then as a sortof 'sketching' device with easy synchronisation.

That wouldn't be easy, nor would the interface be optimized for the Hildon UI.

From Debian the dependancies are:
http://packages.debian.org/squeeze/hydrogen

It does run on armel though. It requires Qt3. Not sure if its ported to Qt4. Maybe on Easy Debian with Squeeze/Testing it'd work. I couldn't find Ubuntu Jaunty ARM packages but maybe I didn't search well enough.

Hello,
there is a multiplatform sequencer calles SUNVOX.It is available for Windows, Linux, Mac OS,Iphone and Pocketpc.

http://www.warmplace.ru/soft/sunvox/index.php

A really nice piece of software.
As a linux software it should not be too difficult to port to maemo.
There is a poll on the authors forum. "Which platforms must be supported by SunVox?"
http://www.warmplace.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1072

It would be nice, if we all could go to the forum and vote.
There is also a discussion about platforms, that should be supported.

I think we have a chance, if we vote and discuss..

what about zynaddsubfx and a drum machine for live performance?
zynaddsubfx would need the n900 kbd supported but that shouldnt be a problem, more the multiwindow stuff needs to be organized.
