I have a dead N810. (3 actually)
Does not power on.
No indicator LED's when plugged into charger.
Wont even boot into reflash mode.
And my pc does not recognize it when plugged into the usb.
I do have the Nokia usb drivers installed as well as the Nokia updater installed on my PC
It literally does nothing no matter what I do.
Bricked?
Battery is good as it works fine in my working N810
I have heard something about "Cold Serial Flash" and JTAG
I also believe that you need to access the serial connections under the battery to do this and feel quite confident I can build a dock to achieve the necessary connections.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to get these units working again. Software I might need and a guide, website or instructions. (Other than sending them to Nokia)
Thanks in advance for any help and/or guidance.

Plug in power supply, have Nokia Updater ready, connect via USB to Windows PC with Nokia Updater installed. Then press and hold the top key on the left of the screen (below-left the little black square) and press the ON key. Now the device should switch on in reflash mode.

Thanks skatebiker however I have already tried that. Units will not even boot into reflash mode.

Both my n800 and my n810 mysteriously drained on me today. They're both still working but it was strange. Never happened before, and there were none of the usual low-battery warning beeps.

That majorly sucks. Every time I flash I worry about perma-bricking. These devices are mysterious, I had a N810 w/ unresponsive touchscreen suddenly work and then upon reboot quit functioning.

Documentation is sparse, it was mentioned in a couple places in the wiki, but that seems to be GONE. Way to go people deleting valuable information from there for the sake of making it N900 n00b friendly >.>

This thread http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=15712&page=2 has some interesting information. Essentially you'd have to go through a process of assembling an appropriate cable - unfortunately it was not completed and there are no success stories that I am aware of -_-
