Hey all you have probably been asked this a million and one times but has nokia actually got a release date tfor the n900 or is it like whenever they feel like it???

Also I mostly use my phones for calling and texting and the occasional web search and email should i be looking at something so advanced or would something a little simpler suit me???

Oh and by the way im in Australia so......

Get the N900...because eventually if you want something more advanced, you'll have it, whereas if you didn't have it, you'd have to go out and spend more money again.

UK update:

On my way to the Nokia London meeting I visited the nokia london flagship store. A girl there told me that they are expecting the device next week. After waiting for a long time to ask her busy manager she told me that the only contract they do is a 24 months Vodafone, 35 per month, 600 mins, "unlimited" (?) web. No other option.

Nokia meeting: After the presentations I asked in person the marketing woman who did the first presentation when they expect the actual device in the UK. She said this week. I mentioned to her that the flagship store just told me tonight next week and smiling she said they hope this Thursday. I asked whether she knows of MPD has any exclusivity (as I pre-ordered) she said there is no exclusivity to anyone - assuming she knows...

BTW, the guy who won the N900 in the draw got it physically. So they are on the way some time soon, I think...
