A question for those in or close to the company.

Nokia has just announced it is laying off 230 workers in the company's Oulu site in Finland and roughly 100 at its Copenhagen site. The workers are said to be Research and Development staff and constitute about 10% of the R&D staff at each site.

Does anyone know if this impacts the N900 and/or Maemo R&D effort or is it just Symbian that's getting hit?

Maemo Devices have been hiring lately so I doubt it.. Also, Maemo 'HQ' is central Helsinki based.
