Hi Everyone, i'm sure this may have been covered before, but there are so many posts to go through.

My confusion is surrounding the Vodafone "release" of the N900.

According to a few places such as http://www.itpro.co.uk/617539/n900-t...ne-in-november and the vodafone forums themselves, Voda IE are releasing it, and the rest may not be sure yet....

Well, surely the UK market must be ready for it, as i pre-ordered a new voda contract at the end of september?

Or does this possibly mean my pre-order will wait for Voda to decide what they are doing?

Or do i ignore my whole worry because actually i'm going through MPD on a voda contract, and technically thats a third party so doesnt count? - all so confusing for lil'old me!

Meh - would be helpful if someone can enlighten me

Probably means you'll have to wait 'till they decide what they're up to, and then you'll get a refund/offer of different phone if they don't do the N900.

But who knows with Vodafone?

I'm in the same boat as you.
However, my read is that MPD will be supplying the phones themselves and will simply bundle them with a Vodafone SIM/Contract
Actually, I took up the Voda PAYG offer (in September) - which I would think is even simpler - Open the box chuck in a Voda PAYG SIM package and dispatch.
I think the announcements from Vodafone relate to them actually supplying the phone as well - with branding/locking as appropriate

I believe, that they are unbranded/sim free phones with a bolt on voda contract.

Actually I know coz I checked and got an email back from MDP.

I've ordered one myself and must admit I asumed it was a sim free with a voda contract 'on the side'

Silly of course that when I asked in the voda store yesterday teh young lady actually tried to sell me a LG Viewty............

I asked her if she actually had a clue what I was asking for and she went 'yeh'. At that point I laughed and walked out.

I was speaking to one of the salesgirls in a Vodafone shop 2 weeks or so ago and asked about the N900 and she said they still didn't know if they (i.e. Vodafone) would be getting it.
