Anyone know if it is possible to turn off the WiFi and keep Bluetooth enabled? Bluetooth audio quality is poor, and I've read the N810 uses the same antennae for WiFi and for Bluetooth. The WiFi may interfere with the bluetooth. I'd like to send music to a bluetooth speaker I just picked up on Ebay (Altec Lansing T515).

I've searched the forums without any luck on this question.

heh, i was not aware there was new versions of switchonbt, i was still using 1.0.2.

still, there are some limitations, and i recall that since diablo i had some issues where offline mode would basically allow bluetooth to turn on, but then turn it back off again some seconds later, tho it seems to works now that i am testing it again...

still, while bluetooth is clearly on, it seems i cant use file manager to browse paired devices like say a phone, as it complains about being in offline mode...

edit:

bingo, trying to transfer a file to the tablet while bluetooth was turned on in offline mode made bluetooth shut down. So while bluetooth can be turned on, its for practical purposes, useless...

anyways, while it may at the start have been interference between wifi and bluetooth in a single device, that seems to have been solved before even the 770 was made...

Hmmmm. this post got me thinking(head hurts now), can you use two bluetooth headphones? Right now I use a splitter in the earplug so my wife and I can listen to movies on the plane.

Be kind of nice if I didn't have to cart around the wires...oh, and not forget the splitter<G>.

This program worked for my speakers, but unfortunately, the sound quality was still cruddy...I guess wired is the way to go for listening to music on the N810...anyone experience good BT audio?

unless one installs the community made a2dp (that the high quality stereo audio profile for bluetooth) package, one only gets hsp, specifically there for low power handsfree vocal range audio.

thats the thing about bluetooth, its not a single entity.

there are multiple profiles, each doing a specific thing, and if a specific profile is missing, one cant make use of a feature or set of features.

While my N810 is in offline mode( wifi is off) I use the below dbus scripts from "Personal Menu" to Switch bluetooth on and off .
