hi all,

Just started to play with my n900 and very impressed with its performance.

However have an issue while i am trying to setup email

1. Gmail is very very slow
2. Mailfor exchange on email is even slower and buggy
3. Cant seem to find the feature of Nokia messaging on my drop down list while i have seen many people being able to setup the same.

I am using the same in India on an indian sim-card

any inputs welcome
cheers
Vishal

What sort of Gmail were you using? IMAP? POP? Native client (if there is one)?

Did you test Exchange with Gmail? Because Google's Exchange implementation is pretty buggy on WM too...

Where did you get your N900 from?

May be because of your location. Nokia Messaging shows up for me:
Email -> New Account -> USA -> Service Provider.

IMAP Gmail is slow.
Mail For Exchange for GMail is extremely flaky and unreliable

for me it works ok when I am using nokia messing and config it for gmail, then you are able to choose how many imap folders you would like to sync.

Wait for sw. update. You will be surprised. In good sense.

???? More data is needed. MfE and Nokia Messaging have the best performance among all the other e-mail protocols supported by Maemo now. i am really shocked by this statement.

It depends on the service availability for your country and operator. Most probably the service is not available in your country or for your subscription.

Yes. Maemo MfE does not support Google Sync. At least in the current release.

Last days it had worked very bad, not sync at all for many hours, last Email I got today is 7 hours ago. I can't found any information about it at http://email.nokia.com/account/home.action?
