You guys may not notice this stuff, but I do Google searches for various brands and devices. I can firmly say that the first page of image search was all images of the leaked Rover images with the pink flower, save a couple of images of the cartoonish drawing of it and a few pictures of a case of the N810. I'm very sure of it. I've covered the N900 heavily, and the leaked image has been my PC's desktop for months.

I can't explain why, but the N900 Google Image Search results have all of a sudden reverted to images of the N810 and its parts. Its hard to even find that images of the N900 with the flower on the screen, but it was overwhelmingly dominating the list before. I'm very sure about this, and Teo and the rest of the MF team would likely agree, since we were all over the N900 from the minute the words "Rover RX-51" were mentioned on MobileCrunch. This is fishy, and I wished other bloggers would chime in and tell me I'm crazy or right.

No conspiracy. If you follow the links with N810 images you'll see they refer to it as "N900". Lots of people did before the official name was announced, as it seemed the logical successor model name after the N800. In fact when the N800 itself first leaked people were calling it the "Nokia 870" or "Nokia 880", (obviously based on 770, its predecessor).

I hear you, but searching N900 just a month ago had more relevant information that has evidently disappeared. I wished I could show you how an image search of "N900" looked last month vs. today.

I can endorse that. I certainly didn't get images of other devices when I first started searching back in early October.

It was so bad few months earlier , hardly any 'real' N97 image.

christexaport is perfectly right with his observation, but still I doubt there's something going on that Google is responsible for.

I too noticed that a lot of articles (and even reviews!) of the N900 come view N810-pictures. Remember the review in a German magazine that was discussed here recently? They had an N900 to play with, they even published a video, but still in their ranking list they used the image of an N810.

I don't know why such things happen, but they do. And because there's a lot more N900-related content now than weeks ago when the "pink flower"-image dominated, it's only logical that results look different now.

"...The N900 is extremely light ..."

ehh yeah, correct. That is the only point, why you should buy an N900, yeah, well oh.. ehm..

Google does no evil??? Of course they do it on propose. They need maemo to fail in order to android succeed. In the news is the same thing. Bad news first for N900 and good news for android. In terms of internet freedom google is a much bigger treat than Microsoft. The worst is still to come. You’ll see.

Yep. Google likes fresh stuff, and there was a flurry of fresh N900 pictures a month ago. After a while, that content no longer gets bonus points for being fresh and it takes a while for the best of it to grow its organic linkage.

Fresh N900 pics are still coming, of course, but not as fast as a month ago.

The results will fix themselves over the next couple of months. This really isn't worth worrying about.
