Yesterday we brought you the (potentially) soul-destroying news that the Nokia N900 launch was being delayed for a week, due to an overwhelming demand for the Maemo 5 tablet. But there may be slightly more to it than that – because Nokia is currently flooding the Nokia N900 with firmware updates. Read on for the deets.
According to CNET, the Nokia N900 is getting firmware updates in “fast and furious” fashion, with the latest one appearing only today on the website’s review sample. It seems that Espoo isn’t going to wait for the full launch to work out what it needs to do to improve the Nokia N900 – it’s apparently doing it right now in order to push out a more finely tuned product.
Of course, it’s not like there are no Nokia N900 tablets out there in the world: 300 have been given to software developers, so it could well be feedback from these code-manglers that’s driving the updates.
