I bought the phone last week from the Nokia store in NYC. I am currently using the phone with ATT on EDGE. Once thing I noticed, I’m not sure if this is a bug or if anyone else is aware of the issue. While browsing the web on 2.5g I am unable to receive phone calls. I am only able to receive calls if I am NOT browsing or using 2.5g. I would assume when I am receiving a call it would interrupt my browsing but it does not.

Does anyone else have this issue?

I think the celluar data is not available with edge only, you can search the web or make a call, one or the other. I'm not sure about the call going straight to voice mail, it could be an ATT issue.

Hmm, could this behavior be carrier-dependent?

When browsing the web on EDGE with German T-Mobile on my N900 and a call comes in, the data connection gets closed automatically and I can accept the call. Apparently closing the connection is handled on carrier-side and ATT doesn't do it?

Same here. In the UK with Vodafone, I can receive calls while browsing (had this happen last Thursday, I was posting to tmo and received a call).

just tested it on Tmobile 2.5 here in the US, the call went straight to voicemail, browser continued to download data.

This is a bug|feature of the gsm network, i experienced it on multiple networks. Whenever you download on all channels (either gprs or edge) there are no more channels left for voice and calls won't work (give it a try calling yourself during downloading and during no data transfer, the latter will work)

I know on my E71 with TMO USA when I am using data and a call comes in, it kills the data for the call. Does it really push to voicemail on the N900?

This is not phone specific. If you're downloading on full speed on your E71 and you're out of channels, it'll push it also. I experienced this since Nokia 6310i, and it's the same all the time. Use at least 3G and you won't have any problems.
