Hi to all.
I'd just bought a Nokia 770 on eBay, but it has some problems.
One of those is that I can't flash the firmware. The flasher app can't found the device, and the 770's display did not show the usb logo on the upper right corner of it.
Can someone help me?
P.S.: Sorry for my english

- hold home key when powering on the device
- do not use USB hub
- make sure you are root (for linux flasher)

well, of course you need to connect N770 over USB to (powered on :-) computer when you poweron the N770 with home key pressed. Then you must see the usb icon. If not then cable, n770 or your computer is broken.

It can be the cable, I've seen perfectly working mini-usb cable which did not work with N770 flasher. Then tried other two (one original, one from my digital camera) and both worked.

I tried with two different cables. It is not a problem of the pc or of the cables
, i think it's a problem of the tablet's firmware... it's not?? The cables are ok and with these i could flash right another nokia...

When I upgraded my Nokia 770 one time, I had a similar issue. I think somewhere it is mentioned that you need to have the latest version of Microsoft's Dot Net Framework installed on your computer for the flash to work. Once I downloaded this, I was able to, quickly Flash the Nokia 770.

I think downloading that will do you a world of good, if you are going to use a Windows Machine to Flash the Nokia 770.

This is also to say that the computer has to know that a USB device such as the Nokia 770 is connected. The Nokia 770 has to be recognized fully by the computer before you can actually flash it. There are some computers ( like my Laptop Computer ) that will not recognize the Nokia 770 any which way.

There have been a few cases reported of 770s being unable to flash, and no icon showing. So far I've personally seen 2. Unfortunately I don't know of a fix.

So Arjun, thanks so much for your interest. I'll try to flash the tablet after have installed the latest dot net framework as you said. I have to say that i have flashed another tablet with the same computer, in this case my mac, and all went right. I'd also tried with a linux pc and only one thing went better. The usb symbol at start-up appears for more time and not only for just an istant. I don't know what i have to do...

You may have to use the new Flasher Sw for Linux.Try re-flashing it on a Linux Box with the new ' Flasher-2.0 '.
