MaemoWorld.ru is the first russian community dedicated to Nokia N900. In our content you can find original video and photo reports from N900 meetup in Moscow, translated descriptions of applications and games. We support the knowledge base in the format of wikipedia, trying to help all russian users to better understand how the devices works on Maemo.

I'm sorry, but:
maemoworld.ru: created: 2009.08.29

You really think that before 29.08 there was no site dedicated to maemo devices for russian-speaking users?

Well, there used to be separate Maemo-related forum topics on various russian mobile-related websites, but as far as I know there hadn't been any websites dedicated to Maemo before MeamoWorld.ru.

There is n8xx.com which exists since August 2007. It is quite stable community. And I'm not even mentioning Mobile-Review.com forums with a lot of insightful info being shared earlier than you have registered your website.

This situation with people claiming they are the only source in certain language is very familiar here. We did see it with "All about ..." things and other bloggers in English speaking world.

Sorry guys, you are not the only ones and certainly not the oldest community.

Do something more positive than just reposting videos and news already published by others.

We represent here as the first community dedicated to Nokia N900. Isn't it true?

Guys, please do not try to present yourself as "the only" ones or "the first one", it simply does not work that way in community that is already 4 years public. N900 is newest one but not the only device in a family that shares quite a lot of similar tricks and approaches. I understand a desire for Ferra.ru to step onto "uncharted" area but it is hardly a news. http://internet-tablet.com/ for example has been covering Maemo for almost 2 years already.

I personally don't care about reports from Meetups from news sites. I have read enough of those by people who were there either on this forum or at forum.mobile-review.com, or in LJ.

Your wiki effort is a good one though not unique, if you would really get contributions there. N8xx.com has extensive information gathered over years in their wiki.

Personally, I'm tired by need to register at all those various forums to even do minimal commenting on errors in articles, like the one on your side where you have been gathering hotkeys for N900 and where it recommends things that we (developers) actually do not recomment to use for normal users (like CTRL-SHIFT-X -- X term called this way does not die and becomes zombie).

If only all those "the only" sites would support OpenID...

You don't care, somebody do.
P.S. I have been on the event.

If you would implement OpenID there (and at Ferra.ru), please tell me. You can find my contacts at maemo.org's profile page.

As to MeetUp, my colleagues were there, presenting Maemo Devices, so I have had good coverage.

Topic says: The oldest Russian N900 community - MaemoWorld.ru
That is a lie. Case closed.
