Yes, I know an update was just released today, but I didn't want to be responsible for any more delay. I will probably be editing this list as I think of more items.

NOT ordered by importance
1. 60 hz refresh for ntsc users. mplayer can play 400x224 at 60 fps, but it doesn't play smoothly on the 50 hz lcd.
2. SDHC. I know I'm not alone here.
3. Usb Host. May already be included in today's update, but I couldn't make it work.
There's interesting stuff in /sys/devices/platform/musb_hdrc/mode and /proc/driver/musb_hdrc but I couldn't change either to say "host." Maybe I need a mini-A cable.
4. Playback of google videos in the media player. Google provides an option for linux users to download an avi, but the media can't play these files. They don't show up in the list. Canola can play the select few that have sizes that are multiples of 16. Mplayer does a good job on all of these videos.
5. Smaller, transparent desktop widgets. Why do I have a background if I never see it?
Edit:
6. OpenGL support. OMAP2420 has a 3D accelerator...
7. Full IVA support. I believe it can do VGA 30 fps encode and decode. Maybe something else does encode, but whatever it is I want the option of putting it to work.
8. Flash player 9.

I'll follow your lead and add mine,

-Enable the characters "S" and "=" on the DUN keyboard so that a Bluetooth connection to the least expensive, always on cell phone service in the USA can be used.

(The iDEN handsets, i580, i870, and i880 can use packet data on the Nextel network for $10 a month via BT. My company alone has over 600 lines of service and 150 field personnel that can use the web for supplemental information and services.)

-Add AD2P (Bluetooth advanced audio distribution profile) support so cleaner stereo sound can be streamed to home or auto sound systems.

Bug #1095 exists for this defect, zero votes and only two people affected (if you count the unique input according to the comments).

I suspect this bug report needs more activity before anything will be done about it.

Bug #667 already raised with 10 votes against 770 - confirmed as being a future request (whatever that means - yes they're going to do it?) but possibly not in my lifetime (and definately not that of the 770).

Yup 1095, that would be my posted bug... I guess I need to send an inter company memo with a link then.
Kind of defeats the purpose of the bug report if it is just a popularity contest.

More people will use this once they realize that they can keep an iDEN phone in the glove box with free BT packet data available for just the cost of maintaing a Boost prepay SIM...
BTW, no minutes are used on the plan with this method.

However if it's votes that are needed I'll post a request in this little user group I moderate >> http://www.howardforums.com

Thanks.

Agree, but without a compelling reason to fix a bug - I've no idea how many potential or existing customers this affects - it's possible/likely that Nokia will prioritise bugs according to votes and perceived demand (ie. a large number of comments from agrieved users).

Certainly that seems to be the way it's working for enhancements, and with so many ignored bugs in Bugzilla it may also be true for defects such as yours.

Agreed... the sensible thing to do I suppose is to start out with a vote request in one of the smaller iDEN forums then.

I agree with the suggestion about transparency.. I'm not too concerned about the widgets though, but someone else already suggested that the big keyboard could be made transparent, this would make it so much more useful. Unfortunately I got the impression that transparency is something that Nokia thinks is unnecessary. This was in a discussion on the developer list about improving graphics performance (it went something like ".. because we don't need transparency we can do as follows:..." -- very loosely paraphrased).

I would also like to get rid of some silliness in the localization, e.g. the email program will _change_ the standard 'Re:' to some local rubbish, this simply doesn't work correctly because mail clients are supposed to recognize this and not re-insert it (again) in further replies. As no mail client can know about the different localizations this will break all the time.
