Is it just me or is the "Nokia Internet Call Invitation" a complete piece of unusable, garbage? The program cant seem to find my webcam (blue screen in box) struggles initiating and ending video calls, noisy sound/video and consumes an unnecessary amount of PC resources (try running it in the backround). I dont see how after all this time Nokia is unable to release new version or atleast a beta2. They should not have added video calling all a feature if it was not fulled tested for workability. This goes for both ends, N800 to N800 and N800 to PC (Not everyone owns one yet Nokia).

I haven't tested N800 to N800, but others have - it's supposed to work fine. There's even a video showing this, on Thoughtfix' blog IIRC.
But I have tried N800-to-PC, and my experience is similar to yours: The PC party couldn't get the webcam working, although he could see me. The sound was very choppy for both parties, and he reported a 99% CPU usage on the PC app.

I managed to get it working pretty easily. I suspect the app is sensitive to PC setups.

Tried everything. Gave up. This thing doesn't work. At least not for me.

Since updating OS I seem to have lost my settings for beta invitation so can't now see the user that has installed invitation application on PC when starting webcam on N800 (Even though restored all my settings via a 12mb backup) (No grey/green user icon, however can see other normal gmail users)

I also had problem in previous OS release where webcam would not work from PC to N800, assumed it was a limitation of the beta invitation?
(Only worked from N800 to PC unless N800's were used at either end?)

I sent an internet call invite to a friend. When they tried to install, it caused a blue screen of death and did not install. I won't be sending any more invites.

FWIW the contact I got back when I tried the N800-PC connection didn't disappear with the N800 upgrade, or rather, it apparently was part of the restored backup.
