Is there an ifconfig or equivalent on the nokia 770? I couldn't find it using xterm and I hate having to remove the battery every time I need to get the wireless MAC address.

You have to be root to be able to use ifconfig. (It is there though)

Try
/sbin/ifconfig
/sbin is not part of $PATH by default.

You just have to write the entire path to ifconfig: /sbin/ifconfig
