I came to realize something... the N900's "photos" app, in good old Nokia fashion, displays every single photo on the device.

Is there a way to segregate certain folders with photos in them, like say Walpapers and Album art?

I'd rather not "hide" the folders with an . in the folder name.

Thoughts and maybe another workaround would be appreciated.

If you click on the "All Images" section of the title bar you can select "Filter by folder" and then display "Camera default folder" to only display images captured with the camera. Also, there you can set it to display from a custom folder if you want to browse images you copied to the device.

Ok. Now that you guys made me feel like a total and complete idiot n00b... THAK YOU! I mean that.

I don't know why I didn't think to click on "All images" in the top bar.

Thank you again.

If you want to hide it only for the Image application this could help you: Link

But please be careful, I haven't test it myself!

Thank you, Helmuth.

Just changed that config file around and added a few folders. Will report once I reboot the N900. It's in the house, and I'm outside on the patio... and I'm not motivated enough to go get it just now.

Hmm... I can filter images by Folder.

But is it possible to filter images by Folder including subfolders?

Great, now how do we make a certain folder the default filter when the application launches? It's pretty slow to always have it load 4000+ thumbnails at startup when the default is "show all pictures".
