I am not sure if it's universal or not. But my devices never have such issue even I tried to brick it very very hard (like doing all the Qt hack and extra-devel crap).

I get the impression that they haven't tracked down the problem yet. Considering it seems to be random for a lot of people, it isn't going to be simple to find it.

Does your n900 camera produce hazy "bluish" images?
