Why is there no way to make Nokia Messaging download the entire message at sync? And why can't it delete messages from the server when I delete them from the device? Now I have to go to my effen PC (I think I'm gonna vomit...) just to delete what I thought were deleted messages. So many spoilers to my pocket workstation dream...

I'm ready to file a bug report, but I want to be sure this isn't set up like this for some good reason. (Pissing me off doesn't count)

by default that is the same for crackberries.
depending on usage its good not to delete them on the server.
but in the n900 usage case i would have expected three ways
no sync
sync no delete
sync and delete

so my guess is that is a bug/feature request
one for brainstorm?????
think ill stick with my imap for the moment then

Gee how pissed are you going to be when you find out that Nokia Messaging will only store 1(one) months worth of e-mails on your device and purge the older ones off...

page 59 of the user manual says
nokia messaging settings : Download message size.
Select if you only want the header downloaded.

Also delete emails from server only works for IMAP mailboxes.
you might need to select the sync inbox setting to have emails deleted removed

I've read the manual months before getting the device. But heres the problem. Sync Inbox and message size options are grayed out and not selectable or adjustable.

This is a huge disappointment for Symbian users. Even our until now considered lame default email client had the option to delete only from the device or the device and server.

Blackberries are mainly corporate email tools, so I'm not surprised they don't allow server deletion, but Nseries are supposed to be standalone computers. Come on, Nokia! Y'all trippin for real.

This annoys me too. I get a lot of junk mail and on my N80 I was used to being able to delete the junk from the server and leave the messages I wanted on the server to download on my laptop. This email program doesn't do me any good if I still have to login to webmail to actually delete the junk from the server.

Whilst people used to complain about the S60 client it actually got around the POP issue quite elegantly by asking if you wanted to delete from the server at the same time.

It would also be nice to be able to select several emails for a given action ala Mark feature in S60.

Agreed, I miss the "mark" feature too.

By going to the app menu bar, you select delete, and it lets you select a list of items to delete, and then selecting the delete button at the top of the window..erm... panel.

What about the dependence on the PC for email deletion from the server? I'm sick of checking my email twice, once on NM and another via the browser based clients of my various email services. Is this how Nokia plans to continue gong forward? Because if so, I'm going to abandon NM. I get too many emails, and the N900 has me days behind on work and communications.
