Too little, too late IMO.

btw, this thread should probably be moved to General or something - not really N900 specific.

ooops sorry XD hahah but yeah is never too late! Droid just recently caught up with 2mil apps. Nokia will too! WHAT nokia really really really should focus on is the entertainment apps such as GAMES and those fun stuff that iPhone can do! That's what iPhone stands up high. As you can see ALL of their ads attract people with their games - drinking apps and such. You never ever see apps such as facebook, youtube, or crap like that on their poster ads, online ads. It needs entertainment for customers/user friendly.

Imo it's never too late and at least even the current OVI store gets 1m downloads a day(so Nokia claims), but we will see how this goes. OVI store was just bad from the start thought the amount of apps is much better than then, but it does need revamp at some point no doubt.
However, he also said that the current iteration of the Ovi Store has always been intended as a stopgap measure, designed originally to consolidate Nokia's various content distribution initiatives – Download, MOSH and WidSets.

“All the while there's been this new platform being built in the background, which we'll be talking about in the next couple of months and launching in the Spring with what we're calling 2.0,” said Linardos.

nice find! that's good to hear. Wouldn't hurt for Nokia to add more entertainment like games from publishers too, when it will benefit all the Nokia customers and themselves

Gravity developer Jan Ole Suhr had well-publicised problems after the app disappeared from Ovi Store abruptly, while EA is distributing Java games through Ovi Store, but investing far more in the development of native iPhone titles.[/url]

HE BELIEVE THAT ALL THESE COMPANIES ARE NOT IMPORTANT TO BE INVISTED! DO YOU WONDER WHY APPLE STORE SUCCEEDS? CUSTOMER WANTS MORE DEVELOPERS! WE TOTALLY AGREE ON THIS WHY WONT YOU NOKIA!?

Those of you who might not know Nokia is doing big revamp to OVI store in spring this year. Current OVI store was meant to be stopgap and 2.0 has been on the works for a long time. This was said by Nokia last year.

Now it seems that we might get some more info this week if this is true.
Nokia is holding a press conference on Thursday morning in London to share some "big news" on its Ovi services.
They are also saying that Anssi Vanjoki is in this event.
Here's the link.
