It did not ask me to change password after installation.

No idea what the default username + password is!

I cannot SSH in at the moment..

There is no password for user. You have to first get root access (install rootsh in extras), type into the terminal "sudo gainroot" to get root access, then "passwd user" and it'll ask you to set the password.

And then you can ssh in with user, and your selected password.

default username: root
for set new password:
1. go to X-term
2. type: root (you should install "rootsh" before)
3. type: passwd
And you will setup new one

You should disable root access, it's a huge security risk if people were to break in your system with root. If you ever need root access you can always ssh in as user and then use something like sudo gainroot to gain root access.
