Interesting. Well sure enough it won't go due to the 2003 compatibility issue. Thanks for taking the time to walk me through it though, I appreciate it. I may play around with the certificates later but it's probably best just to wait for the upgrades.

I'm in the same boat at the moment - the new firmware update shouldn't be long much longer though.

Hi all,

Could somebody please provide me with a manual solution for the symbolic linking mentioned by Vitaly?

The instruction in an earlier post by one of the guys that helped find this bug is not working for me. This is probably from a severe lack of Linux/Unix experience on my side.

A step-by-step would be a big help!

Many thanks in advance.

Regards,
Jan-Paul

I have noticed pictures from N900 address book is not synced back to exchange. Is there a way to make that work?

My MfE properly syncs contact pictures back to my exchange account.
maybe your exchange server doesn't permit that?

The keywords to detect it:

MS-ASProtocolVersions: 1.0,2.0,2.1,2.5,12.0
AS-LIB: Created factory for version 2.5

After client update (w/o server update) you will see:

MS-ASProtocolVersions: 1.0,2.0,2.1,2.5,12.0
AS-LIB: Created factory for version 12.0

After Exchange update you will see:

MS-ASProtocolVersions: 1.0,2.0,2.1,2.5,12.0,12.1
AS-LIB: Created factory for version 12.1
Someone has suggested to come around this issue by:
I found out that MfE uses certificates from /home/user/.activesync/certs which
has symlinks from /etc/certs/common-ca/. But the user imported sertificates go
to /home/user/.maemosec-certs/ssl-ca and these are not symlinked to the
activesync folder. After manually doing the symlink in xterm, I got the MfE
working.

Can you confirm that?

Hi.
Thanks for replying. I wonder. Why mfe 2007 works on N900 for some but it doesn't for some others. What is the reasons. Is that because of cerf. or something else?

There's a few reasons found so far:
  • Certificate problem
  • Missing Exchange patches/service packs
  • Exchange server not set to allow non-provisional devices
