First of all thanks to all the board members who made my introduction to the N800 relatively painless. (kernel patched - 2 8Gig cards on the way) I know that Nokia were disappointed with sales of the 770 as my brother's company does the sales promotion work in the UK. It seems that the N800 will have broader appeal though I'm disappointed in the camera quality.

Is there an alterative media player that supports decent resolutions? To watch anything on the BBC site you have to select low bandwidth which is pretty much unwatchable.

Have you flashed the latest version? It does improve the streaming video performance a bit. Unfortunately, it still doesn't support >2GB cards.

With regard to >2 gb cards....yes it does. I have a Transcend 4gb card in mine. Folks have reported success with 4gb cards in both slots....thus 8gb. Someone mentioned 8 gb cards wirk, but they are expensive...and I can't attest to the fact they work.

I've flashed to the latest kernel. It isn't the speed it is the overall resolution. The BBC feed only works up at dial-up bandwidth and as such looks like a really poor quality videophone. There must be a better way.

If you search for 8Gb SDHC on ebay there are plenty of hits. I paid just over £30 each.
