Actually, Haijin, I'm just getting into the linux world after having been in the Microsoft universe (VB, SQL) for many years. Can't really locate to Finland, either... lol. I've enjoyed working with Finns, though, and hope to continue.

*whew*

Got the official job offer today! Now we just need to work out the start date (especially since the company still has me down to be terminated April 13 I'm sure).

Funny part is, I was invited to another interview for tomorrow afternoon! Dammit, though, the first manager wants an answer by Wednesday. Not much time to play them off against each other...

Well done fella - we never doubted you! Take my advice and bag a couple of weeks for yourself if you can.

Well crap!

As some already know, I've been hospitalized due to kidney stones (since Tuesday)... which means I missed saying goodbye to my co-workers that are leaving a certain closing factory. Tomorrow is their last day.

And to complicate things further, I read in our corporate news releases that there was ANOTHER operations realignment-- just as I'm about to start my new position supporting a region (Americas) that just ceased to exist!!!

Ay yi yi. My new boss was promoted to a global position, when means she'll likely relocate. I can't right now. So... back to square 1 maybe...

:/

What shocks me is that you read about this in a corp news release - nobody bothered to inform you beforehand? That's bad. Typical corporate bollox though.

I hope your new position is safe but if not that find something to your liking soon as I'm sure you can do without all this aggravation.

Well, not to defend the bollox-diffusers, but there really wasn't any other way to present this than the way they did, given circumstances I can't go into. Besides, I did have suspicions based on earlier communications and movements-- just no hard proof that it would extend into my domain. My boss being promoted cured me of that ignorance.

I think I need to contact that other manager and see if he still needs someone-- THAT position just might be more secure! lol.
