I've not developed for the N900 before, and might look into making some very simple apps/widgets. What i'd like to do is create some desktop widgets which would allow me to press one button to turn off 3g/wifi/bluetooth and other services to easily allow me to save power when i don't need these services. I know these are only a few clicks away, but having them readily available on the desktop would encourage me to do it alot more.
Is there anything like this available already? If not how complicated would something like this be? I'n a programmer by trade, have had past C experience but not overly extensive. Would this be easily managable? is there any other information people could provide to a beginner with maemo development?
As an evolution to this concept I'd like to have a power management app on the desktop which would allow you to select a power setting which would configure certain settings with one push. For example a minimum power mode which would turn wifi searching, email streaming, 3g and bluetooth off and just have basic services running. Then a full power mode which has them all on and something in the middle, etc.
What do you think of the ideas, any advice/criticisms you can give me? Thanks for your time.
