Hi mkaand, I've an italian N900 so I can answer to your questions:

-No, the italian N900 has a different keyboard with up/down arrows as secondary functions of the left/right buttons and dedicated buttons for accented letters. Personally I use the english keyboard layout for playing games that require all the arrows as primary functions.

-Yes, you can switch the system language to american or UK english.

And, if you celebrate it, Merry Christmas!

Hello torpedo48. Thank you for the fast response. Could you take a picture of your keyboard and sent it to here ? I am really wondering.

I guess I will buy thru Nokia USA. It is cheaper than Europa. USA 568 dollars. Itally and other Europe countries 600 euro.

We dont celebrate Christmas but I want to celebrate yours. Merry Christmas. I respect all religious Thanks.

You can see the italian layout of the N900 keyboard here:

Jump directly to min 2:15 to see it, in any case the biggest difference is this:

Here's a photo of my N900. Damn, do not look at the screen, it is soooo dirty... I'm going to clean it up, I promise.
Thank you for respecting my national religion, but I'm atheist and I celebrate Christmas just for tradition!

I'd do the same, I've bought my N900 through Nokia Italia just because of the warranty (and of course my 20% discount, I've paid only €470!).
