one more item to be fixed: when forwarding/replying to an email, original email is not being marked as "forwarded"/"replied".

1 thing that i would like very much is syncing all my calenders to the N900 (including the public once that are not directly my own).
But not syncing that to one calender on the N900 but just a 1-1 mapping from a google calendar to a N900 calendar.

I wouldnt have problem with it bing a paid service instead of free service..

but i dont know if multi cal is even supported through MfE?

I can answer that because we coded up a special mode where we can respond to a device as if it supports multiple calendars (a la iPhone), even if normally the service wouldn't. I tried that with the N900 and unfortunately no luck -- the device's MfE only supports syncing one calendar. Perhaps the MfE developers can add this feature. It wouldn't be too hard I think since MfE already has the necessary folder support for email, and the device has multiple calendars.

I hope the next sw update will also be able to send out eMails while manual sync...
Sure. This was a clear bug which is fixed. The workaround - to use "Send/Receive" from mail client.

Thank you very much for the warm words.

1) do you know if the new firmware will include portrait mode ?
(sorry for the OT but is important)
Let marketing guys to announce Maemo firmware releases and the new features inside. I am not Maemo spokesman

2) Are any developing on new features on modest client (smart reply etc.) and MFE full implementation of functions going on in Nokia Dev team ? Will we see them soon ?
Nokia Dev team is working on N900 MfE improvements.
Modest is open-sourced and you can see the directions it goes by yourself.

3) Since all SMS, email etc are stored in SQL lite DB, can we see soon a good local SEARCH function on N900 ?
If you ask about Nokia plans, I can only repeat that I am not Maemo spokesman. If you are asking about technical possibilities - why not?

4) Will Java be implemented by Nokia or only by Community effort ?
Can only repeat my statement about not being Maemo spokesman And I can also recommend you and all the java funs to communicate with jalimo project (jalimo.org)

Congratulations! Welcome to the club!

However, I want to be sure that I'm running the latest version of the N900 MfE client.
You are running the latest PUBLIC version of N900 MfE client.

1) what's the current MfE version?
The version which is installed in your sales box. Maemo has not released any sw. updates yet.

2) how do I find the version number from the device ?
Settings, "About product" will show you the Maemo version.
MfE is part of Maemo and is not distributed separately.

3) how would I update MfE if there were a newer release ?
