As using BBC iplayer doesn't seem to be that feasible at the moment is there a way to download a BBC Television programme to your computer and transfer it to the N900?

If so, what Portable Device or Mobile Phone should it be downloaded as and what settings would be necessary for playing it nicely on the N900.

Apologies if this question has been asked or answered before. I did perform a search and read a few threads before posting as I couldn't seem to find out if this was possible...

do a general internet search for iplayer downloader and you'll find it. I don't think I should be posting links to those things though.

Or if you know what you're doing, make the iPlayer think you're an iPod/iPhone to download the mp4 file, though it won't have any DRM.

I believe there is a tool floating around called get_iplayer which may be able to help you with this.

its so annoying..

the iphone does it smooth- i think it runs a lower qual vid(i hope it does)-

if this is the case bbc iplayer is realising that the iphone is a mobile device and not a computer(but not doing it for the n900)- i am sure there could be a work around..

if above isnt true its gash
