So, while the arm core is the same in both the n900 and the iphone; the SoCs are different - n900 is a TI and iphone is samsung. this means that the video decode hardware is different and can have different capabilities.

i want to rip in to something that will play in both the n900 and my wife's n97. of course since they have different aspect ratios, and the n97 is more dated, id rather it be optimized for the n900 and just functional on the n97.

i ripped with the latest handbrake today to MP4 (xxx x 480, anamorphic off IIRC, FPS=same as source.)

media player wouldnt play it!

i have other avis ripped previously that will play on the screen but not on Tv-out or vice-versa

would love to get some 'standard rips' for these devices setup that are somewhat future-proof

hey you say to change 16.9 dvds to 800x448 but on handbrake i can only go to 720x448 any idea why ?

I know you want help, but posting the same thing twice is frowned upon.

try to play using KMplayer..with mplayer selected as default player..i myself has been getting the media not supported thingy (using osso media player)..

but after i installed kmplayer and mplayer..the video played..but...but...its out of sync...audio and video doesnt match..the video lagged..

i dl a lot of live music videos, have given up on default media player but kmplayer never fails
