I am not sure if it is a hardware or software issue or if it is by design, but I hear that the N900 cannot aquire a position from the GPS without an internet connection. I may be wrong though.
I bought N900 today and I think I might have a problem here. After I bought the phone I noticed sticker on the box that said something like 'Navigation is not supported for your country'. I was totally amazed with the box content when I was buying the phone so I wasn't paying attention on box labels.
gps - enable
gps device - internal gps
Network positioning -enable
Location server - supl.nokia.com
I don't have internet connection on my N900, and as you can see I am complete newb when it comes to gps... Am I missing here something, do I need to do some extra settings or my gps is somehow disabled...
One more thing... There is one more sign on the box... It say 'FM transmiter is on board but it doesnt work in your country'... When I go to settings/connectivity/fm transmitter it say 'fm transmitter disabled' and i don't have option to enable it... This thing doesn't bother me much because I wasn't planning using it anyway but I am just courious... Is there any other setting that can enable it...
Did anyone had simmilar gps problems? I would appreciate any tip/info...
Thanks
