Sometimes when I type things using the virtual keyboard, it does not appear in the text box of a website. Anyone else experienced that?

Is there any way to force an app to stay running? Sometimes I accidentally close pidgin.

Don't calibrate the display. It came pretty accurate for me, but after trying out calibration is seems just little off. I test this by using the sketch program & seeing where the lines appear in relation to the stylus tip. Before calibration pretty much centered all around & after the lines are little vertically off near the sides.

I've calibrated my screen and I'm not seeing this. The line seems to be pretty much exact center of stulys. Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough or got lucky in the calib.

As for pressure, the N900 seems to have the touch-sensitive "window" mounted quite some distance above the actual screen. You can see this by looking at some feature of the screen surface, fingerprint or grease or whatever, and compare it to the actual content on the screen, while tilting the device. So, you're not actually pressing on the LCD...

I realize the virtual keyboard is a bit buggy, sometimes it doesn't appear when I click on a text box. Also at times the stuff I type does not appear when I dismiss the virtual keyboard, even happened when I typed this message argh.

Btw is there a shortcut on the virtual keyboard to capitalize the next letter or only that caps lock button.

What i left out is that fact that i got it from my finger nail... it's weird, i know, but i think (i hope) that something was stuck under the nail or something... and no, i don't have edgy or jagged finger nails, they're smoothly trimmed.

still, don't worry about it, i've been using touch screen phones for a year now and a touch screen laptop for two, and never experienced the same problem or heard of it happening before

iPhone/capacitive touch screen users usually face the same problem and get used to the resistive touch screen with time.

Hi

I am using one from http://www.zagg.com/
Put them on pretty much every mobile device I've owned recently, N95, E71, Ipod touch and grilfriend's iphone.

To be honest I actually find it easier to use with the shield on since it makes the screen smoother when swiping/dragging things on screen, plus no nail scratches...
