Just curious.
I'm waiting ovi store becouse extras and extras testing mainly have ports of open source desktop apps/games and not very finger friendly in my opinion. I hope that ovi store brings us more n900 optimized apps/games wich has better user experience and more "iphone like" feel. First time ever i'm waiting to pay for apps. =)

there is a thread here with a list of available apps and there r just 2 devs so far!!
nokias utter silence is more worst than anything imho...my main concern is the firmware updates and bug fixes..all i want is nokia to support this device to its full potential and not hang early adopters and release a new device leaving bugs or sf enhancements on n900, afterall nokia is known for this right? someone said here before if nokia would have been apple we would have 5 or 6 iphones already!

there is a chance that nokia are holding back for a big opening with more apps. Fair be it a slim chance

Well, yes, but do you have any evidence that such things are in the queue? They don't magically appear.. and I would be surprised if there's actually any stuff piled up already, waiting for the store to open. We'll see I guess, but I'm not holding my breath.

What you said. Plus, it's just expected in the smartphone wars to have a sizeable app market. It's marketing, pure and simple, for potential buyers and developers wanting to make a buck. Anymore, if you ain't got an app market, you ain't got squat.

So whether most of us here need or care about an OVI store, for Maemo to be a commercial success for Nokia and for Nokia to move toward their stated goal of increasing their services sales, a healthy OVI store is a must.

I just know that no one can't take money from ported opensource apps so either there will be apps made for n900 or as you said no apps at all.
