Hi, I have found a bug in Hermes 0.2.2 - once you successfully pair Hermes with Facebook account it is not possible to switch to another account. I have found a workaround though .. tough one.

To get rid of facebook account settings you need to change the file /var/lib/gconf/apps/maemo/hermes/%gconf.xml - either delete the secrets stored there or delete the file (that will get rid of twitter settings too). Then the gconf daemon has to be restarted to get rid of the in memory loaded settings. I have just restarted the tablet since I don't know the command to do that. Then Hermes could be run again. (I uninstalled the Hermes app before the restart but I think it migh not be needed to do).

hope it helps

There's an easier way: http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=438098&postcount=4

AFAICR, no-one has yet raised an enhancement request for this yet... nudge nudge.

Thanks, being able to find this would save me some time, but I learned something too along :-)

I have filed the enhancement request for that as you suggested - #7565.

Thanks for this great app! Have you considered web-scraping the non-api contact details directly from facebook page html? just wondering..

Unfortunately, doing so would violate Facebook's TOS, get the app banned and - in some places - Facebook use images to prevent scraping (meaning that it'd have to involve OCR as well).

Maintaining a screen scraping suite is hard work (I do it for my TV pages) but Facebook make it very clear that they don't want apps doing that.
