Or you can just buy one of the tethering apps I mentioned above.
I am not condoning violating the terms of use policy with your mobile provider, and if you're a bandwidth abuser you may get caught and end up with your service temporarily deactivated. But you may be facing the same situation I am -- Sprint cut off tethering, but will not offer their official tethering service (PAM - Phone as Modem) in your service area. It is not offered in my Sprint home service area (even if it is available abroad) so Sprint will not allow me to subscribe to the service. My contract with Sprint is up in two months. If they don't properly resolve this situation, I will very likely not be renewing my service with them.
Again, there is a trial version of these tethering apps. I'd give them a try before just giving up being able to tether.
