no back up on pc suite- now that is an out of the box gripe for sure.

and in reality the backup app could still back up your apps as you can only have 2gigs of apps on the n900

No gripes, just constructive criticism.

whats the difference mike?

all of these gripes are constructive criticisms.

i purposfully said in my topic this is not about features that were never included , only out of the box stuff problems.

no, thats not constructive criticism, thats only whining about things that you think you can't change (iphone user thinking).
but you can change! by letting nokia know what you want! not in this thread! but in bugzilla, in brainstorming.
and btw. you're really annoying me!
if the other devices are so much better, why do you don't get the n900 back an buy something else, which would satisfy you more. split personality (notice, I'm using same words as you, how do you feel?)
this is not about "we have the best device" but this is about "we have a nice device and would like to improve it WITH THE COMMUNITY".
if you don't get the linux mentality please go away, we don't have a need for little whiners like you.
(btw. it's not the fault of the device if you hav a loss of 20.000 pounds(LOL?), it's your fault, because you're trusting a device you don't understand!)
please go to one of the new founded sites around maemo, but please don't spam and troll ("but kathy, there MUST be a thing you don't like!!") around on here, where the real things are done.

i suggest everyone serious to leave this thread and don't waste your time (like I'm doing right now).
maybe he is paid by apple??

zehjotkah,
Do you really think that people should make bug reports about things that are obvious to child? Do you really think that because of community thing Nokia should leave totally itīs normal business model where you copy/mimic/learn from your competitors and on the other hand innovate. In my opinion communitys idea is to innovate and Nokias role is to make basic things work as least as good what competitors are providing. Actually better would be normal business approach.

My biggest gripe :

Calendar events alarms :
We can't set an alarm with a precision of 1 minute, only 5 minutes (ie : 7h16, 18h43, etc... only 7h15, 18h45, etc...).
On my old phone I had three consecutive alarms to wake me up, each one set to 1 minute after the other.
Other reasons can be found to need accurate alarms.

That is something I really look forward to in the next firmware release.

What leads you to believe this will change with the next firmware release?
