it is the service number that your phone use to send sms on gsm phones. it was quite nice back in the days when you were able to use out of network numbers to send free sms worldwide

hehe, true true, but on this model can message center number? i dont have this phone but i prettend buy it...and need to be sure =]

not sure about android, although i used wm for around 3 years as i never needed i didn't check but i beleive you should be able to do it with registry editors. check http://forum.xda-developers.org
