My understanding is that:
GTK+ is production quality but it will be left for community support in the future version of maemo and replaced by Qt.
Qt for maemo is still incomplete but it will become THE framework for maemo in the future.

if u like c++ style programming and if you'd like to stick with nokia's vision for maemo go for qt.

if u prefer c style, and this is purely my opinion, better community and doc support you could use gtk. also gtk hildon integration IMO is better documented.

personally i'd stick to Qt but for now decided to wait till thr is more community and doc support so .learning gtk now

Qt API's should work as they are but GTK requires some modifications/Hildonization. See http://wiki.maemo.org/Documentation/...eveloper_Guide
