That's the certificate problem he was telling you about.

Looks like connection-wise you're fine. Problem must be in the app manager somewhere. You said some repo's work.. can you see if you can install "rootsh" from the app manager??

yeah I just installed "rootsh" from the app manager and it said it installed successfully. But I can't find where it downloaded to?

No matter.. it's installed.

Please open a terminal and type:
Code:
sudo gainroot
apt-get update
And either copy/paste or show a screenshot here of what you get.

is this all one code? How do I get to type underneath the Sudo gainroot line without press return?

You do press return in between, it's one command on each line

My repos was working fine up till ths morning, this morning i enabled extras-testing and tried refreshing, it took 3 mins then all i got was no updates available, strange as iv not had a prob yet so far

That is truly baffling. Ping is successful, but apt-get is not?

That doesn't make any sense...
