Thanks for the testing and feedback! Two more successful tests and this version is live. I don't know why the original developer used that font because i completely agree.

Here's the updated todo for the next version:
  • Font size/etc.
  • Change exit hotkey to something besides Backspace so that players of non-timed games can Ctrl-Backspace switch away and come back.
  • Banner or help pop-up to describe the autosave and autorestore "pause" feature (which is also why the button says "Restart" after the first time around).
  • Less creaky music toggling
  • Better scoring
  • Better active area for quit button
  • New icon?

Classic example of arbitrary Nokia decision making. Couldn't just fallback to the no brainer of tagging with lat/lon if network isn't accessible, could you Nokia?

Well, the ten needed karma (positive tester votes) are in, but there's no option to promote to Extras. I suppose it's due to this line "At least 10 days of quarantine " for Extras-Testing, but it's awfully suspicious that all these Nintendo emus went from gone to Extras in less than 24 hours.

Ahem.

Yeah, the font is really hard to read and the "Quit" button is a pain. Sometimes it works with the first click and sometimes I need ten clicks. Last time (while Media Player stream internet radio) Gweled crashed on pressing the "Quit" button and the screen blocked everthing else (I could't switch the tasks or see the desktop but Gweled was already dead). I had to press the power button, open the phone and use the accelerometer to fix it (and then I had the portrait bug).

I believe this is because they originally entered extras-testing many weeks ago and therefore had been "in quarantine" much longer than these 10 days.

The quit button was supposed to be fixed in the current testing version; is that the version you are talking about?

It turns out that crashing on exit with media player on is universal (though infrequent afaik) and not due to Gweled: it's in the pulse audio layer: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=30991&page=4

It's my understanding that some (most?) of the versions rushed through Extras-Testing were new releases that had not been uploaded at any point. I can understand the willingness to get them back in the repo, but if they feel the need to break policy in the process, perhaps the policy should be reevaluated. What's special about 10 days of "quarantine"?

Yeah, I have experienced that with the current (0.32-4) build.

Have you reported the bug?

I tried to repeat your experience with the quit button not working and was unable to get even a delay. Was this with media player running in the background?

Good question regarding the bug. I haven't, assuming that if the chair of the Maemo community council told me it was a bug, it had already been reported. If you don't find it in bugzilla, try shooting VDVsx a note and asking him to, as he seems to know more about it.

I tried searching just now and got this:
maemo.org bugzilla is moving to a new server. Please wait until the new dns entry has propagated. We should be back soon!
Good news! Hopefully brainstorm is next.

It's https://bugs.maemo.org/index.html?id=5524 and it happens always (for applications which are affected) when media player is playing music.

Thanks. I still can't access bugzilla but it's good to know it has been submitted.

The quit button not working problem he is reporting is (i think) something else, and i can't repeat it myself.

The quit button works as expected for the lower half but the upper half of the button doesn't work here.
