I recently purchased my nokia n900. When I got it I started using it immediatly. I did not receive a cd with my purchase so when I tried to connect to the pc I could not install the pc suite and then when I tried mass storage mode I could not find the 32gb's on my computer.

So what I am wondering is:
(1) Where do I download the driver information to get pc suite.
(2) How do I get my computer to recognize the memory so I can start moving multimedia(music and videos) onto it.

P.S.- Compared to the average person, I am pretty tech friendly. Compared to some of the people on here, I am a kindergartner. Please respond using full words and explanations(refrain from using acronyms because I wont know what they mean unless they are well known to normal people) that would be suitable for an average person to follow.

Thank you guys! This forums looks extrememly active and I cannot wait to explore a little bit!

hi,

I don't know if there is an other way, actually pretty shure there should be, but found this one by accident.

You can acess the internal memory when you attach the N900 when turned off.

So power off, attach microUSB, et voila.

Just plug it into your computer through USB mass storage. It will detect automatically if you leave it to finished the driver installation.

1. To download pc suite, just go to Nokia site and download it. Shouldn't be too hard to get the latest right?

2. If you installed the PC suite and still can't get the mass storage to work then. I suggest you try to plug the N900 as PC suite mode, then once it detected by the PC suite, just disconnect the cable and replug it again and select Mass Storage. This work for me, for my computer of cause.

hope it help.

Mass storage works for me(XPSP3) without pc suite.

What OS do you have? A servicepack or update maybe?

After you connect the N900 will have two buttons onscreen to push, one says mass storage" the other says "pc suite" (i think). You wont get access to the mass storage feature until you push the mass storage button.

As was also mentioned, if the phone is off, it defaults to mass storage mode, but since we NEVER turn our phones off, I thought this bit of info might be helpful!
