Shame the front camera wasn't cleaned up. There's still the 'dark band' problem, and the generally grainy image quality, to fix. It's a standard 640x480 VGA camera...it shouldn't suck this badly.

Ok,

Always trying to understand why I can see this fu****g update ...

So, someone having installed the firmware update properly can post the output of :

/var/cache/apt/archives # dpkg -l "*kernel*" | grep ii
ii kernel 2.6.28-20094102.6+0m5 Flashable Linux kernel
ii kernel-flasher 2.6.28-20094102.6+0m5 Linux kernel updater
ii kernel-modules 2.6.28-20094102.6+0m5 Linux kernel modules

It may just be that the firmware hasn't yet been rolled out to your region. Mine shows exactly the same kernel version packages, but I doubt that those have been updated at all in this firmware release.

There were screenshots posted earlier of the update details screen, which seemed to list the packages that were being updated. I'm not sure how this will help you though - unless you have the maemo firmware update available, there's no point in trying to bodge things by forcing updates of other packages.
